Our aim
To offer international candidates a modern, accessible and professional way to assess their Russian — clear for candidates and useful for the institutions and employers who read the results.
RLPE — the Russian Language Proficiency Exam — is an international examination project developed by NEN (National Education Network) to assess proficiency in Russian as a foreign language.
RLPE is designed as a single, computer-based examination. Candidates do not choose a level in advance: the exam is intended to determine the level they demonstrate, reported on the CEFR scale from A1 to C2.
RLPE is a separate examination brand. It is not TRKI/TORFL and does not use the specifications, certificates or rules of other Russian language tests.
Technical details of the exam — its structure, duration and scoring — are described on the Exam Information page as they are approved.
To offer international candidates a modern, accessible and professional way to assess their Russian — clear for candidates and useful for the institutions and employers who read the results.
The first pilot is planned in Kyrgyzstan. The project is designed so that it can later expand to other countries. The official mission and vision statements will be published once approved by NEN.
RLPE is intended for anyone who wants to assess their Russian as a foreign language, including:
Formal eligibility rules (minimum age, identification documents) will be published once approved.
